Ultrasonic Testing
As an NDT approach, ultrasonic testing employs sound waves of short wavelength and high frequency to find faults or measure material thickness. Welds, castings, and wrought items such as rolling plate or forgings are all subjected to ultrasonic testing.
The interpretation of ultrasonic wave reflections generated by a transducer enables the identification and localization of discontinuities.
The results of the ultrasonic examination can be presented in a variety of ways, including:
- A-Scan shows the quantity of received ultrasonic energy as a function of time,
- whereas B-Scan shows a profile (cross-sectional) image of a specimen.
- C-Scan shows a plan image of the specimen and discontinuities.
The link between fault size, flaw distance, and flaw reflectivity is complicated, and interpreting the display requires great ability. With over ten years of expertise in this industry, we can comprehend and provide accurate interpretations of inspection exercises.
We have over fifteen (15) competent UT technicians on hand that are SNT Level II Ultrasonic Testing certified in accordance with SNT-TC-1A. All JCI ultrasonic testing inspection engineers must have at least one NDT.
